Hi
I replaced the cracked digitiser on my ST25i with an OEM one that I ordered from Amazon UK:
The replacement was fairly easy and went smoothly.
When I switched it on, the phone booted up and the LCD was working fine. The digitser unfortunately not as I could not use the slide motion to unlock the phone. I opened the phone up again to recheck the 2 ribbon cable connections. After closing making sure those were good I closed the phone up again. Unfortunately now it won't turn on at all. Dead as a doornail.
If I plug the charger in, there is also no indication of 'life' - the phone remains cold.
Any advice? Is there anything I can still do to rescue my phone?
TIA
When you opened it back up did you remove the battery before messing on with cables as this would indicate a short resulting in a blown fuse
Thanks for the prompt response!
I definitely removed the battery - no doubt about that.
But it won't hurt to check the fuse. Where is that located?
Pass - There's a few but which one I don't know and just to add when you removed the battery did you press the power button to dispose of any latent static power or is there a chance that you had static and caused the short if indeed there was one as this can happen on Pc motherboards
I did not press the power button after removing the battery - had no idea that was necessary.
So I guess it is possible that static caused it....
It's possible but I can't say for sure - I can speak from experience it the Computer business but not for phones but I would assume that the same principle's apply
