When I try to set the volume tone for text messages, I can select a ringtone, but there is no tick off box that is filled afterwards.
When i don't use my gsm, the volume is always lowered when I start it again.
I'm not really sure what you mean but you set the notification and ringtone volume under settings > sound > volume.
