Xperia U upgrading to ICS

I recently bought Xperia U phone and it was from some celluar network called Tim. The phone is unlocked but there are some apps from Tim and the there is a startup animation from Tim as well(After sony). I want to remove all that, and I want to upgrade the phone to ICS(Currently it's on android 2.3). If I upgrade it to ICS using Sony PC companion, will that make the phone delete all the apps from Tim and remove the start up animation from Tim?

if "Tim" didn't approved and/or release the update you are not going to be able to update your phone using PCC or SUS. 

as for the preloaded apps and boot animation you have 2 options

1) root your phone and delete them

or 

2) flash your phone
