Xperia U touch screen problem after ICS update

I've been using Xperia U for 4 months now. Bought it on 27 Mei 2012. I just updated my phone to ICS on 1 November.

Before the update, i experienced some mild problem that i could forgive about like the touch screen will go nuts when the phone is connected in storage mood. nuts because when i touch it during the storage mood, the phone register the touching at all over different places. apps will wildly opened unexpectadly. AND, the phone 3 soft keys wont register touch if i use the phone for a long period of time or the phone is mildly warm. and for some odd reason, i CANT use the play store/opera mobile/browser/facebook app when i am on data. i have to use wifi to use the following app. this is really really disturbing...:smileyangry: but I can still tolerate with all that Neutral_Face FYI. all this problems happen after the first time I powered up the device. not over time..

After the ICS update, i hope the touch screen problem will resolved but its not. it's just making it worst.. after the ICS update, the screen are somehow are hard registering touch, not happen all of the time, just 98% of the time. before this, i love Smiling_Face_with_Heart-eyes texting using the virtual keyboard, now i have to use wifi keyboard since it is really hard to type! have to use google voice typing. Angry_Face it is like i was typing on a resistive touch screen instead of capacitive. even my really aging nokia 5800 XM resistive touch screen is easy to type on..

Is there in anyway i could revert back to gingerbread? OR are there some effort in the making of an another update? Love the UI on ICS but the bugs and the problems really isnt worth it... Apps keep closing and always hang unexpectadly.. I never dissatisfied with a phone this quickly...

about the phone:

and FYI, the phone isnt connected to storage mood, but the symbol still visible..

Yeah true!! I also have a same problem!

After I update my Xperia to android 4 -- first 3 days was rocks!! then the probelm start to comeup.

My phone respond to slow but i can live with that, but since yesterday it become worse, i have to touch harder while texting [sms, fb comment, whatsapp ] landscape or horizontal the virtual keyboard really messup!

just now my phone really stress me up for several times, it respond by it self! open up application, close it down, open up time setting, change the time, close and go back to Home screen and open another application -- out of control!! after I take off the battery and let it be for a while and put it back and restart it will be ok but the the screen responsive still giving me bad time!

Temporary solution, instead of texting my contact, i just make a call ughh!!

Maby not exacly the same but similar problem with touch screen after upgrade. After some time of using phone I can not type correctly. It looks like holding finger on screen and try to type at the same time. Dragging icons is really hard. Restart helps for a while  but the problem return after few hours.

I'm sorry to hear but I suggest that you contact your local support team to have your phone examined and fixed at an repair center.

Same problem here. After updating to ICS, touchscreen has become unresponsive. Though I suspect that the free screen guard that came with phone might be the cause. Improve your quality guys!!! Also, provide some original screen guards.. or else we have to rely on those cheap duplicate non-standard screen guards..

I too loved xperia u once, but not now. Today i went to service centre & confirmed a touch problem (touch panel has to be replaced), will have to wait 7days to know the repair status.:smileysad:
