Xperia U text messages

I was wondering if anybody could help me. I have an Xperia U and was wondering if there is a way of knowing if somebody as read the text you have sent them. I know you can on Xperia T but don't know if you can on Xperia U. Thanks.

Which steps do you follow to do so on the Xperia T because I haven't seen this on my Xperia T

Sorry i'm not actually sure but my friend has the Xperia T and she said her phone shows a tick when the message has been read. Sorry i couldn't help you.

Not quite, the check mark is for MMS

messaging > settings > Delivery report

That does not show if the other party has read the message, only that it was successfully sent. 

You can download whastapp if you want to know when your contacts read the messages.

Please also be aware that if you enable the delivery report, some networks d o charge for this service so it may be worth speaking with them directly before doing so.

From my experience stock menssage app only shows tick when it was successfully sent the message, Only messenger like Whatsapp shows the tick when someone read the message
