Hello.
My Xperia U has been experiencing a reboot loop for about 12 hours.
I have removed both battery and simcard many times but didn't helped. Downloaded the Companion tool and went to the support zone to repair. At first it didn't recognize my phone although it was being charged. Once I could pass this step, it started downloading something but right in the middle this error occured: "Sony update engine could not be installed (error 0x8004f002.)"
None of the suggestions I read through posts such as operating in safe mode and stuff did not work.
You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.
I've read related topics and done this many times already but didn't help
My phone was fully charged when I restarted it but now it must be about 70% or 80.
Is there any flash tool provided by Sony apart from the companion one?
And thank you for your fast reply.
Sony has EMMA flashtool:

Where I come from is listed among the exceptions. That's frustrating
You could also try a manual flash using a .ftf firmware file and Flashtools
Thank you a lot.
Could you please tell me what I sould search to find a .ftf firmware file and Flashtools??
:)))
It suddenly started working and is still on. But not sure until when it works properly.
Thanks so much
