Xperia T TV Dock and Panasonic TV

I have the Xperia T and have bought the Xperia T TV dock, it does connect without problem and in the main work very well - EXCEPT when watching a movie purchased on Google Movies.

Whlist playing the movie on the phone alone it plays perfectly, once connected to the dock the phone connects to the TV via smart connect however the movie playback is not smooth, there is a regular 'stutter' every few seconds as if the film jumps very slightly but noticeably.

Having spoken to Sony they think it is because so far they have only tested the dock and smart connect software with Sony TV's whilst I have a Panasonic Vierra.

Has anyone got the same problem or can they confirm playback is fine through a Sony TV ?

I should mention it is not a streaming issue as the movie is downloaded to my phone not being streamed.

If Sony want to loan me a TV to check the dock is okay and it is a smart connect software problem then please contact me 🙂

i have tx, and tx dock, both t and tx are very similar phones, my tv is also sony

It's possible that your purchased movies may have a codec issue, ie, plays on your phone fine, ie, 720p, but plays on the dock at 1080p ( upscaled) with this issue as the gpu is struggling to encode the 1080p

have you tried download 1080p from youtube and convert to mp4, then play on your phone via dock

then download 720p from youtube and convert to mp4, then play on your phone via dock

if the 1080p has issues in performance then you know the problem
