Xperia T - turn off camera shutter sound?

Hi,

I am quite happy with this phone, but there is one pretty annoying thing - camera shutter sound. I looked to all menus, but there is no option to turn it off. It is ridiculous, it makes the camera totaly useless in many situations (in public, if you want to take photo in quite place, like library or at night, if you want to take a photo of animals, it is even annoying when you take more photos in a short time, etc...).

So please, it is some way, how to turn it off?

Thank you

btw...when I turn-on or turn-off the phone, there is for couple of seconds a image with logo of one telecom company, but I bought the phone in normal store, it is not branded or anything like that...it is possible to take away this image? I know that it is not very important, but I think, that if I buy a phone for 550 EUR, there is no need to do a advertising for other company and to be honest, in this case it is a company that I really don't like...

1st in some countries the shutter sound must be included, the only way around it is to turn off the system volume on the phone (download quick settings)

or

flash a global generic firmware

2nd in some countries even SIM free phones are network branded just w/o a monthly/year contract

Thank you for quick reply.

1st - well, this is not the reason. I live in Slovakia and my previous phone Sony W980i have the option to turn off shutter sound, and pretty much every phone here has this option - Samsung Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Ace, Wave 2, obviously iPhones, some Nokia, Motorola etc. This is first mobile, which doesn't have this option, that is the reason why I didn't expected it. And if I know it (I read many reviews but no words about this issue), I will not buy this phone...and I seriously considered that I return phone because of this, but I didn't do it mainly, because it was a gift.

So obviously, this is not the reason, so why there is no option tu turn off shutter sound in Xperia T?

2nd - that is interesting. Actually the telecom company is on the Warranty certificate as well. Anyway, if I update the phone with debrand software, what does it do with warranty?

btw...currently I use the phone without SIM card

check this

open the camera > settings > shutter sound > off

debranding a phone doesn't quite void your warranty, it "could", did you followed my steps? if you did then you should have a backup of your original firmware, so you can flashback anytime

There is no such option in camera settings  (sorry for image quality, but W980i doesn't have the best camera).

And I didn't flash the phone yet. I looked at the site you post, and it doesn't look like a official way how to flash the phone, so I guess, it would be a big problem if anything goes wrong..

you know you can take screenshots by

press and hold power & volume up at the same time

also remember that in some countries it is required by the law and sometimes by a carrier.

here are your alternatives

1) use another camera app from the market

2) use quick settings (app) > sound > system sound (turn it off) > use the camera

or

3) flash your phone
