Xperia T does not charge

Hi guys,

Yes i have the charging problem too.

When i bought this phone just under a year ago, the very first dissapointment was that it didnt charge out of the box. A quick google search revealed that i wasnt the only person with that problem and a reset with powerbutton and volume up seemed to solve that.

Now fast forward to the period when we all installed the jellybean update and the phone went on the fritz. It would randomly give app errors for most installed apps. The screen would randomly turn on and all kinds of other weird behaviour. LIke it wouldnt connect with usb to a computer to transfer files in both modes. It did charge though when it was on, both from the computer and a charger (multiple chargers). I assumed it was all due to the update and that it would eventually get fixed. (looking at how slow sony is with updates i assumed it was natural for sony service)

Now about 4 days ago, i noticed the phone is not charging when on. I tried many things after googling this issue again. Tried software update and reinstalled android twice. Then tried PC companion and software repair, 3 times. Yes i went throught the process 5 times to be sure. Still the same issue. At some point it stoped charging when off aswell, but a reset seemed to fix that. USB debugging keeps poping up when turned on, but no connection through usb yet. Today i was waiting for an xperia chat employee to see if they have any more suggestions. When i noticed that the phone is charging again when on. USB debugging icon came on and everything seemed to work, when im connected to xperia chat. I thought that was weird to say the least. So i turned the phone off to see if it would still charge when turned back on. And what do you know, the phone isn't even turning on... I unplugged the usb to see if it mattered. Nope. So after holding the power buttong and volume up until you get 3 vibrations i reseted it again, and it started, but guess what, it's not charging when on. Honestly at this point im so done with sony. This is clearly not a hardware issue due to internal damage, but more likely a badly coded software fault. I also read somewhere to open the phone and disconnect the battery from the mobo, which i did, but it didn't solve anything, at least it seems not to have done anything. Not sure if this random time that it worked today had anything to do with it.

The xperia lady kept pasting premade answers premade by sony in the chat, which wasnt much help at all. Obviously she said to send it to repair. No wonder sony is loosing revenue with their every single department. Selling 2nd grade products. Good thing i got a new deal on an galaxy s4 today, otherwise id be depending on sony and their dubious service.

Hi guyz,

Wanted to give an update on my issue.

After sending my phone back to Sony Repair, I just got it back the first day. Everything seems to be as I left it, and the phone is charging again when its on.

I am a bit dissapointed however, since there is no letter explaining any issues or what has been done to fix the issue. So i guess i best hope for the best that this issue will not occur again. Fingers crossed, but by judging on the shear amount of new posts with similair issues my faith is pretty low.

Cheers.
