Xperia SP Phone signal issue

Hi,

Recently updated to 4.3 after a long wait.

From today morning, noticed that whenever net data connection is on and I keep the phone idle for around 30 secs, the cell coverage goes blank. There is no data connection and I'm not able to send any sms.

But the coverage comes back as soon as I try to make a voice call, along with data connection.

This does not seems to be happening while my data connection is turned off.

Need to check if this is some network issue, though my friends here, using the same service provider are not having this issue.

I dont have any task managers / memory boosters installed. I do have avast antivirus.

Plese do let me know if this is another one of the "common bugs" of SP, or just some issue with my own handset.

P.S : I'm from India.

Hi Abhijith

the problem you are facing is a issue with the software update itself, currently you can't do anything but to update the software again,

>i prefer to update the software only if you have high speed internet or get it done from your frens computer, make sure there will be no interruption during it, it does cause some issues

>you can try to restore the phone, i dont think this will do any trick, but worth a shot trying it Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi,

Think i"ve found a quick fix.

Switched the network to GSM only, and it seems to be working OK for now...

Though, finding it very difficult to get a net connection in GSM only mode.

I had similar problem for couple days after update to 4.3

The thing that helped me was Airplane mode, which shuts down all network connections and turning phone off and on.

After turning the phone back on and Airplane mode off, network problems dissapeard.

I still have problems with LTE (probably because of the bad signal coverage), but no problems with GSM/3G, at least not for now.
