I read some Sony representative confirmed SP will not get kitkat though not confirmed officially. If it so,it will be really very bad gesture from sony side.Launched in March-April 2013,SP is hardly one year old yet and i guess majority of the owners even would not have their warranty expired yet and sony ending its support at this stage would really send bad signals to all its customers. Most people wll think twice before buying even high end phones from sony thinking that they are user unfriendly and might end support to any device sooner or later just to force its customers to buy their newer devices.I request sony to deliver kitkat to SP as promised earlier.
Contact xperia care, see what they say:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
It means "please buy an M2".
French Android forum indicated that they received an official informtion from Sony representative that kitkat will never be available.
For me SP will be my last sony product, because :
- Sony sell it's computer branch = support will be terminated soon
- I had a xperia pro and the upgrade from android 2.3.x to 4.0.x was a mess
- SP upgrade to 4.3 is also a mess - how a company can release an upgrade with such issues.
- Xperia S are no longer repair ( in france, even if tehy are still availlable on market) - they propose a SP in place !!!
Fo all these reasons, i think, now, that Sony is no longer a company that we can trust. that's why i will not update my sony software (vega pro) and will switch to adobe equivalent. And my next phone will be a probably a Nokia.
If the announcement of KitKat isn't coming to xperia sp is an official one then how come according to a German site the Sony have nothing to do with what was said as it's still in the testing stage also that it's just rumours. Until its actually official I'm not believing a word that it's not being released.
