Hi folks,
I have a strange issue with my Xperia SP and would appreciate your assistance in figuring it out. While in my car, the phone successfully connects to the vehicle's bluetooth system (I drive a 2008 inifiniti). Once I connect to the car's bluetooth system and the first call comes in, everything goes smoothly and I have no issues. After I hang up, however, any subsequent call that comes in still gets routed to the car's bluetooth system (it shows that I am on an active call), yet there is no sound coming through the bluetooth system. Switching to the phone's built-in loudspeaker or headpiece produces the same outcome - I can't hear the other party and they can't hear me even though the phone and the car both show that I am on an active call.
My suspicion is that Xperia SP does not fully disconnect or somehow 'mismanages' where it sends the call signal after the first call and as a result neither the car nor the phone are usable. Turning off bluetooth on the phone doesn't help - I still can't hear anything either through the phone loudspeaker or the headpiece. The only way to solve this is to reboot the phone.
I am convinced that this is a Sony issue, since HTC One, Samsung Galaxy, and iPhones all work well with my car and don't have this problem.
Any advice would be appreciated. I thought of upgrading to the Z1, but am hesitant if such a silly bug will persisit with a phone that's priced through the stratosphere.
Hello,
I have a similar problem.
I own an Xperia SP and a SBH20 Stereo Bluetooth. The problem is that the Bluetooth connects fine and NEVER loses connection with the phone. BUT during a call, after some seconds, the call sound diverts to the phone headspeaker!!!
I dont know what to do. I am waiting for the upgrade to see if it is resolved. When i connect the bluetooth to another phone (HTC) it works fine!
Also i forgot to mention that the bluetooth coverage is really bad!!!

Hi, i have the same issue with the bluetooth.
While i'm listening music everything is ok, but if i make or receive a call, after few seconds the call sound diverts to the phone headspeaker.
Please fix this, i can't make calls through my bluetooth, furthermore my bluetooth device is Sony also, i can't believe that both devices aren't compatibles.
It's nothing strange - unfortunatelly seems it's normal with SP 😞

SP doesn't support blutooth. On 4.3 it doesn't support Viber calls, it doesn't support google hangauots. Just change a phone. I've got Z ultra, everithing works. I suspect z1 compact has same as z ultra hardware except screen and battery. so can be good replacement for SP.
I was strugling with SP for a while trying to ask impossible from low end hardware. As well as Sony was trying to write software for this hardware (chipset/processor) what ever doomed in this phone.
I think bluetooth is software emulated. Wifi had poor reception prior 4.3. People never able talk to me then on the blutooth headset. I was disappointed on sony on android etc.
But now happy with top (Z) models. Only Ultra models has some issues with DPI in skype. But at least calls, bluetooth, wifi all seems ok.
However SP works with Skype, Facebook Messanger, normal calls. So i keep it as a backup.
mb2004: "old iPhone5 to Xperia SP". It is like to say. I moved from my old Porche 2014 to BMW and start from 1xx series, 5 years old maybe... so big disapointment as in base configuration it doesn't have bluetooth and not playing blueray disks
and as result so disappointed in BMW
so i am back to my Porche
Xperia are nice deisgn phones, but they also do cheap budget phones for any budget. Apple simply not, exactly for that reason.
