Run a repair using either PCC or SUS found here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

2. Download a .ftf file and using Flashtools manually flash your phone - A good guide for doing this can be found here http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/05/30/install-jelly-bean-to-your-xperia-s-using-flashtool-tutorial/ and a list of firmware can be found in various places 1 been XDA here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599303 and Xperia Blog here http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/resources/categories/xperia-s.19/

Restart

Restart your phone to turn off all running applications and to free up memory. Press and hold down both the volume up key and the power key Power key of Sony Smartphone for 10 seconds. After your device vibrates three times, release the keys. The device turns off automatically. After the device is turned off, restart your phone.

The phone freezes or applications suddenly shut down

Downloaded applications can cause the phone to behave unexpectedly or affect the phone performance. Use safe mode to check if any downloaded application causes the problem. In safe mode, the phone only starts with preinstalled software and applications. If the phone performance improves in safe mode, it’s likely that one or more of the downloaded applications are affecting the phone negatively. You can then uninstall the most recently downloaded application and restart the phone.

To enable safe mode

  1. Turn off the phone.
  2. Press and hold down the power key Power key of Sony Smartphone until the phone vibrates.
  3. Wait until the Xperia™ logotype disappears.
  4. Press and hold the volume down key until the phone vibrates. The phone then restarts in safe mode.

Note: To exit safe mode, restart the phone.

I cannot power on my phone

  • It might be that the battery is drained. If the battery is completely discharged, the phone needs to charge for a while before the battery status light lights up. Charge the battery for at least 30 minutes, and then turn on the phone.
