Xperia S problem

My phone when switched on, Sony logo comes and then a repair sign. Usually the repair sign used to be there for a minute max. but now the repair sign stays for 10 minutes and then shows some caution sign. I tried to factory reset using PC companion, after preparation of computer and download of software , updating of the phone doesnt happen. Please help.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

I did the same. Followed all steps. Then a software gets downloaded on to the computer and then it should update the phone (so as to repair). But the updating of software into phone itself fails.Charge on phone should be more than 50%? My phone is switched off. I connect for charging using wallcharger. Charges for sometime then sony logo comes and again repair symbol appears. Does the phone charge when the repair symbol appears?

It should.Can you try to keep it connected to wall socket for 3 hours? If that does not help, I think it would be wise to stop by a sony service.

This screen means that something has happened with the file system and the phone is fixing the issue. It may take up to 24h but it's usually faster. Please connect a charger and wait for the repair to finish.
