Hi , I have a Xperia S not even a year old, recently I am having this problem. My battery drops from 60% to 1 % most of the times , and 85% to 24% like that..when I plug it in , its shows the charging icon in the battery , but the percentagedoesn't increase .and the red light on top left is not on.... but if I turn it off and charge , the red light indicator turns on and it charges ..and also sometimes automatically it turns off on it own..it has happened 3-4 times till now , which has created a lot of problems for me:smileysad:.. i thought it was on OS issue , so i recently upgraded to JB(2 days back) , but the problem is still there..please help me out with this issue .Shall i do a factory reset or go to the repair center and get the battery replaced ?? I had this issue with my tablet and it's definitely is your battery. You need to go Service Centre to get the battery examined.
You can try to factory reset your phone or repair the phone software using the program PC Companion:
