Hello,
I have a Xperia Pro, purchased from Sony Germany (on Amazon), upgraded to latest official version 4.1.B.0.587 using sony tool (not rooted or such).
Two problems (since upgrade to ICE - might be coincidence, might be not)
1) About every 3-4 days, I find the mobile without network conenction. There is a dialog box "SIM card removed. Restart.".
When I click "Restart", it boots up again and continues to work.
2) It's worse sometimes when the mobile boots into the SIM unlock screen. When I type in the PIN, the mobile reboots after 2-4 seconds. Again and Again. If I do NOT enter the PIN (go to airplane mode), I can use it, access apps, etc etc, when I leave airplane mode, type in PIN, it crashes/reboots.
This might be (but need not) related to roaming / foreign networks, as this happened twice so far, once in Italy (Cagliari) and once near the german border to poland, where the polish net it stronger than the german one (shame on Vodafone DE).
How to recover from this situation ? Take out battery and leave it for nearly a day. One hour does not help, so maybe there is some inner internal battery that needs exhaustion....
At the first incident, I suspected the "take time + timezone from network" option, but this one was turned off on the second incident.
Anyone with similar problems ? Any suggestions ?
Cheers, Tom.-
If this issue has only begun since you have updated the phone the first thing I would suggest would be a repair of the software on the phone. This can be done via the PC Companion. You may also wish to try another SIM in the phone to see if these issues persist.

Hello, thanks for the suggestion.
Since it behaved strange yesterday again (had GSM reception but no data transfer - "no letter in the antenna symbol" - needed a full reboot to fix - going to airplane mode and back did not help) I decided to try that "repair software" option of "Sony PC Companion".
It's just coming up again.
I'll let you know when/if the problem is fixed...
Cheers, Tom.
Hello, some 2 weeks later, I can say that the phone works somewhat better then before,
however I did have one "SIM card removed. Restart" occurence since.
It the problem stays at this interval, I can live with it.
Any more ideas someone, also for the 2) issue ? Might be annoying again on my next vacation...
Cheers, Tom.
