Xperia Pro MirrorLink compatible?

Does anyone know if the Xperia pro will support MirrorLink in the new Sony mobile audio units like the XAV-601BT?  The Experia pro appears to be able of supporting RealVNP so it should be able to MirrorLink but I have found no definitive information.  The 2012 Xperias are listed as being out of the box MirrorLink compatible.

Can anyone explain exactly what the requirements are for MirrorLink?

Thanks,

You'll have more luck posting on a Sony forum since the audio unit is built by them.

I read your post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686535 in my research. I'm still a bit confused. Is MirrorLink bluetooth based? Would you connect via USB?

It appears the audio unit is Android OS based too. I don't really understand the benefit of this over a BT connection to stream your music from your phone.

HOWEVER, the 2012 devices don't really have that much difference from the 2011 devices, so if you can find out what those requirements are for the unit, I can help you out.

MirrorLink does not connect by bluetooth but by USB from what I have read so far.  If I am reading it right, a simultaneous two way communication is necessary.  In essence the headunit it taking the place of the smartphone controls and display to run the phones processor and apps.

Sony is incorporating MirrorLink compatibility into some of its new source units but my question is on the handset side of things, specificly if anyone has insite into whether or not Xperia Pro could be used or what specific hardware is going to be needed on the handset side.  MirrorLink is just a new name for Terminal Mode albiet one that has industrywide agreed protocols and standards that should be more developed and functional versus the past "link" attempts.  The big benefit will be to run smartphone apps like GPS and communication tools through the headunit.  Is there anyway to get a software engineer to input on whether or not a 2011 Xperia like the Pro could support MirrorLink with a MirrorLink equiped source unit?

I got a new XperiaZ. My Headunit is the Alpine ICS x7. It hardly works.

The USB connection does not come automaticly. With Nokia C7 it does. The "MirrorLink"

("CarMode") is as functional as with Nokia (it has full "MirrorMode").

To establish the connection between "Z" an ICS X7 I always have to switch the "USB Debugging Mode" on and off. Everytime !!

The Alpine ICS x7 actually is not "given free" for the XperiaZ.

Via Bluetooth it streams the Music, USB-Connection is necessary for Navigation ("Wisepilot" is the Default setting). Google Navigations works very good.

At the Moment it is not possible to start other Navi-Apps and mirror it. The connection always crashes after trying to start Navigon or Sygic in "Car-Mode" by clicking the  "+"-Buttons.

It is who´s fault?: Alpine or Sony?   Please: "Come together...rightnow !!! "
