Xperia P update problem through mac bridge

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my xperia P through mac bridge. Instructions were to disconnect the phone from the caple, shut it down for 5 seconds then press down volume key while plugging USB caple into phone. I did all of this but after connection computer cannot find the mobile. 

Any help please!

it worked well then and I could upgrade my Xperia.
