Xperia P sms/text messaging bug

Hello All,

I have a weird issue regarding text messages - I used to notice that the text messages are stuck in 'Sending' status whenever there is no internet (the  E/H/R on phone signal icon is missing). I use Vodafone in Bangalore and the connectivity to internet is very sticky at times. But SMS on any phone is not supposed to be transmitted/received through an internet connection but the base call band, right? Please tell me if there is any setting change that can help me out.

If the text/SMS its longer than a single SMS/text it will be converted into an MMS which require a data plan. 

There's no way to disable this, but you could download another messaging app from the play store, such as: handcent > go to settings and you will be able to do so.
