xperia p occasionally stops vibrating

hey everyone,

i've had this phone for a little over a month now, but i haven't had this problem until very recently.

sometimes, my phone's vibrate function stops working.  this usually happens during noon for some reason and the phone seems to fix itself whenever it feels like it.

i've already repaired my phone with the sony pc companion not too long ago, but that was to fix something else. before i repaired it, i haven't had this problem.

does anyone else have this issue?

first time i heard that problem..if you already repaired it then maybe you have to go to a nearby sony center for professionals to check on your phone issues if its software or hardware. hope they can help you,

That is a new one for me too. How frequently do you notice this?

hi there sir sam, you are one of the professionals here, i just wanna ask if all of these problems with sony android phones are being encountered by other brands such as samsung or htc. because i joined here last month and everyday i read different problems with their software and hardware, and i guess this will never stop. are we the only ones experiencing all of these?

I can't speak on behalf of the other manufacturers (though a quick Google search will answer this one)but you have touched on one of the difficulties of the internet. If your product is working perfectly well with no errors then you are unlikely to go online find a forum about the product and tell everyone about it. Due to this the bulk of the content will always be people who are having a hard time with their product and this regrettably provides a jaded view of the products as a whole.

With all this said I don’t want people to stop coming here with their problems, that is what we are here for. Whilst it is nice to hear a positive story once in a while it provides little consolation for those who are having issues.

it seems to happen at least once everyday, particularly during the daytime for some reason :S which doesn't really matter since i'm in school during those hours.

i seriously hope it's not a hardware issue, i don't think i'll be able to repair it locally 😕

It would be worthwhile ruling out software first, so please try this:

1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

and install it on your PC.

2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.

Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.

3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

4. Phone Software Update.

5. Start.

6. Repair Phone

7. Continue

8. Accept data removal

9. Next

10. Wait for prepare

11. Select Phone

12. Follow the connection steps

i've already repaired my phone a few weeks ago (though not for this issue). prior to repairing my phone, i haven't had this problem.

should i wait for the next available software update? i can't be bothered with having to reconfigure everything Smiling_Face_with_Sunglasses

i'm on build 6.1.1.b.154 if that helps with anything.
