Xperia P ICS issue?

HI ALL,

I have been facing following problems after updating the phone to ICS:-

• No tone on SMS notification but when i am receiving call , tone is still working. any 1 facing the same prob?
• Games like temple run, homerunbattle 2 etc have started lagging , it look's like it skips the frame rate while playing.
• While dialing a number it takes around a second to open num pad, its still slow.
• In recent dialled numbers the last digit of number is little faded(the particular number shold be stored on your phone book with name so in this way it will come in second line, the last digit in second line is faded)
• MOST IMPORTANT, network drops to ZERO while dialing a number for the first time, there was no problem when phone was on gingerbread.

Till now i have noticed only this, will update if i face some new problems. kindly provide solution to above mentioned problems.

One more thing i noticed on the phone is that there is some problem on transaprent strip, looks like some sort of moisture. WILL IT CAUSE ANY PROBLEM IN FUTURE, coz sending a phone to sony service station will be a nightmare.

p.s.:-I have updated phone through Sony xperia PC suite. I didn't find any option of factory data reset option while updating.

Always update phone from Sony update Service.......Most helpful method method

Select the option(Update+factory data reset)...

if the problem come again..

Then u need to Go Sony care centre...they will install firmware with best method...

I also have Xperia P, But i m not facing with any problem...

After you have updated your phone through . go to settings > backup & reset > factory data reset> and tick the erase memory card option.

After that 1-2 problems will be going

Now for dialler lagging, its becuase of SONY launcher, it was also there in 2011 models ( ICS), installing third party lunchers woulnt help too

laaging is due to contacts stored on Google sever, if you store them locally ( in phone ) then no lagging !!

For that you have to download the dialer app from PLAY

I use, Touchpal :smileyhappy:, better than stock one.

Regarding network drop, i thnik its more dependent on your carrier, mine is Airtel and i noticed no such thing, even if you are getting call connected, changing of the signel strength should matter to you.

Ask for a new micro sim from your carrier ( ask for 64k sim)

If you are using facebook app in P, your phone is bound to be lagged, 10 minutes of FB use takes around 70 mb of RAm and CPU also. so best is to disable FB or kill from running apps before you play any games,

I have used sony pc companion...i didn't find any option of update+factory data reset.........
let me know how to install thorugh SUS?
if i do factory data reset then i will loose all the applications+games....so if i reinstall apllpication through google play, will my achievements will be there in the game or not?

I am not sure if you will find any of your achievements after reset,but you can try do do a phone backup before factory reset and to move all your games to sd card.

Yes, im facing the same problem as u which is no tone in sms notification. I still wondering what problem.

Beside that, other games apps also very laggy and sometimes it will hang  and force me to close the games apps

I update through the PC companion and also try to factory data reset, yet still the same issues.

Coz lack of time , I still haven't updated thru SUS.......but surely next weekend i will give try and will let u know wat happened....

Kindly justify ur tag line "make,believe" by giving a well tested ICS update.......BTW am looking for JB now
