Xperia Neo v Camera problem

Hi

I have had my Neo v for a few days and it has a problem with the panoramic photo operation.  It stops with the error message "Could not take picture. Please pan in the correct direction".  Any ideas on how to fix this anyone?

Hi, I think you are moving phone in the wrong direction while taking picture. Ensure you are moving it from left to right.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am moving the camera in the correct direction (from left to right and the arrow at the bottom is moving in the same direction) but it either tells me to pan more slowly, I am moving in the wrong direction or, less frequently, to pan quicker!  No matter what I do it very rarely takes a photo.

I assume that this is a problem with the motion sensor but there is no option to adjust or reset it in the settings.

I don't think there is any problem with the camera app, maybe restart phone and try again.

Take more pictures, practice makes perfect. Winking_Face

I have shut down the phone and removed the battery but still no joy. I even download a compass app to recalibrate the accelorometer in the hope that that might cure it but it has had no effect.

Hmmmm .... Can you ask your family members or friends to try taking a couple of pictures? Hope you won't get offended as I just want to make sure (don't want you to waste time and effort to software repair phone unnecessarily).

If still having the same problem, suggest software repair phone.

No offense taken Slightly_smiling_Face  Family members have tried using it and they get the same response.  I shall try the repair option option and let you you know how I get on.  Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Tried to repair the software.  It downloaded the software and checked the phone.  When it did this the screen turned white for a couple of seconds and then turned black.  The computer lost connection with the phone and then hung up so I had to reset the computer.

The good news is that it didn't brick the phone Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

I shall install PC Companion on a different computer and try again I think.

Could be a bad internet connection.

Anyway, better to do it on a different computer (just in case).
