Xperia mini pro - new user facing some problems - Page 2 - Sony

Hi,

As a new user of Xperia mini pro I'm facing some problems - probably most of them are caused by the fact that PC Companion software (ver. 2.10.079) can't see my phone. In general I'm able to use "Media Go" and "Files manager" (these applications work fine), but PC Companion informs me, that phone is not connected. After plugging in USB cable it starts to search the phone, but fails... After such failed searching I'm getting mesage, that "PC companin shall be updated", but then... I'm getting info, that I already have latest version of PC Companion.

My phone software compilation version is 4.1.A.0.562-v2.

Did anyone of you face similar problems? How to connect properly phone to the PC Companion, such it would see it?

My wife has just bought SE Live with walkman, and mentioned version of PC Companion can see it without any problems...

Another thing is - do you know what could be the reason for delayed automatic screen rotation? I have only few widgets on desktops (clock, frame with a picture and some buttons to on/off data transmission, wi-fi, etc.).

If there were similar subjects created already - please forgive me crating new discussion, but I was not able to find them.

Originally problem was observed on PC with Windows Vista.

Now I've tried to repeat all on PC with Windows 7 - and still the same issues are occuring.

Any other ideas how to proceed with this issue?

Till now all proposed solutions seem to be guessing than knowing what to do...

can you show the error with the sony update service?

Translated message is more or less: "Phone contains modified software, that can not be updated".

What is strange - both phones (my Xperia Mini Pro and wife's Live with Walkman) are getting the same message, but both are new with original software "as it was installed by manufacturer".

usually that error pops up when your bootloader is unlocked, one solution is to relock the bootloader first before proceeding update.

Additional question - what about warranty? Does such "flashing" affecting warranty of the phone? If yes - then this is not the solution here...

take the firmware to the "Firmwares" folder

click on Falsh

Press Ok

it will ask you to connect your phone on Flashmode (turn off your phone, press the back/Volume button, then connect the USB) press OK
