Xperia makes New folders on its own

So i updated my Phone succesfully To the newest Android version (whatever its called) and now when i try to move my pictures from one folder To another it makes A New folder.

Let me explain

Lets think that all my new pictures are in Camera folder and i want to move them to folder named Funny pictures.
Camera folder got 10 pictures and i wanna move 2 pics. Funny pictures folder got already 12 pictures.
I go to Camera folder and select the pics i want to move and start moving them. When ny Phone is ready i go to look and i got now these three folders : Camera (8 pics), Funny pictures (12 pics) and Funny pictures (2 pics).

So it creates A New folder with same name where i wanted to put my pictures.

The moving worked perfectly with the earliel Android version, but as soon as i updated my Phone it started doin that. Anything i can do to stop it?

How are you moving the pictures? Are you cut paste or copy paste with the file commander or is it a different app?

Hi @grandeja,

That sounds strange. I just tried moving photos from the 100ANDRO folder to a new folder I named Test. Did this twice (with newly taken photos both times) and moving two photos at each attempt and there was not two folders named Test afterwards. I used the Filecommander app to mark two photos > Pressed the three dots > Move > Selected the Test folder.

What app are you using to move your photos and how are you doing it?

I moved them like they are supposed to br moved (i presd the picture long so its selected, i press the two dots and then i press "move" or something (my phone is in finnish language so i donni what its called in english) and i select the folder i want to move them to and i press "siirrä" (means move).

@grandeja, could you confirm what software version your device has? Look under Settings > About phone > Build number.

I would also like to know if you are using the preinstalled Album app when moving the photos to another folder. When I tried in the Album app I opened the Folders section, marked a photo and could select to move a photo and create a new folder right then and there. Is that how you meant?

In your phone, open the File Commender app > Press Internal Storage or SD-card > Pictures > Can you see one or two folders here called "Funny pictures"?
