Hey there,
My Xperia J has taken to turning itself off randomly. I've read the threads about the battery calibration, but it happens to me with an indicated 68% battery left. When I turm it back on, it might say 62% or so, not the 5% that others have seen.
It also resets the ring/message/alarm tones to the default ones which is odd too
I am running the OS version 11.2.A.31`. I have looked to get the OTA upgrade to .33, but it isn't available in Ireland/UK just yet.
Has anyone else had this experience or discovered a fix?
Cheers
You can try to start your phone in safe mode to see if the problem might be caused by some 3rd party app.

If the problem persists I suggest that you update/repair the phone software using PC Companion:
Great, Thanks for this.
Is there any way to isolate what app might be causing the issue?
Hey,
I did a complete OS re-install, but the problem seems to still be persisting, albeit on a less frequent basis.
Is there any other trouble shooting that I can do?
After reading stuff on diffrent support forums, I realized that if no solution actualy works, maybe people are "attacking" the wrong and even non-existing problem.
I noticed my xperia shuts down\resets itself when it's hit/knocked/bumped etc, so suspect number 1 became the battery and it's physical connection inside the phone's board.
I found out the battery can be moved up/down 1-2 milimeters when pressed hard, which led me to the conclusion that every bump/hit causes a momentary power disconnection.
Solution (WORKS!):
Grab a small piece of paper, fold it and squeeze it with the battery so it can't move at all. if the battery can still move, give the piece of paper another fold.
Test it:
Drop your phone few inches above your table and see if it still shuts down.
Best of luck to you all.
Even when my phone is stationary, it keeps on crashing down. It doesn't turn off, it resets itself to the 'Xperia' logo and then to the lock screen. After being unlocked, it was always reporting a problem with an app called 'Viber' i assumed this would be the reason as to why the crashing occurs, thus i uninstalled it. Initially the crashing was every 2 mins (Pre-Viber uninstallation), now it is 10-15 minutes. I even tried the solution using the PC Companion as suggested but to no avail. I am worried all my important files will be lost, i am trying to back them up now as we speak. if someone could come up with alternate solution it would be much appreciated.
I switched off the "extended standby mode" and now my phone has not reseted itself in three months. Who would've thought that this "standby mode" has been causing the problem?
