Xperia ion Jelly Bean Update

I wanted to ask when are the Xperia ion users getting Jelly Bean update?

Sony is very lazy in providing updates... All other brands have Jelly Bean 4.2 in place and Xperia users are struggling to get Jelly Bean 4.1 update

You pay 35K for a phone and don't even get an OS update for it. Complete waste!!

Sony's logic is pretty straightforward. They came into big troubles with jb for 2012 range of handsets so they deiceded to solve problems by it's size. They first released Jelly Bean for Xperia P (and the others) because that model (models) has the most users and they don't want to mess with them. Then they decided to shut up Xperia S, SL, acro S users and went so far as to decide to release unfinished version of jb firmware. Unfortunately ION users base seems to be very small..so I wouldn't be surprised if they will decide to ignore us.

I would request any SONY authorised person to respond to these threads...please.

I understand a software update for each and evry model is a huge task...but don't they come up with deadlines?

As a customer point of view.....do we have the right to know when exactly we would get the update and the specific reason to why it is taking so long, when almost all other providers have already launched their updates!?!:smileyplain:

But I can feel you..even I feel wrong bad sometimes..

...when much less value phones comes up with software upgrades

...when my colleagues and friends show their new updated OS

...when promised deadline miss and there is no one to explain

I know my phone is running proper in ICS...but the desire of getting OS updates every quarter and the fear of getting behind the version update race is driving me crazy and quite frustating too...

Yes unfortunately end of June seems like the soonest date when we could see jelly bean coming. Shame on you Sony.

Don't believe they will release any better version than they released for Xperia S.

Sony workers, it must be really hard to work at sony i think. If they are using the same strategy that they use in jb update, you can not take your monthly salaries. On the other hand you have to stall off us about updates. What a big headache
