Xperia ion Jelly Bean Update

I wanted to ask when are the Xperia ion users getting Jelly Bean update?

Sony is very lazy in providing updates... All other brands have Jelly Bean 4.2 in place and Xperia users are struggling to get Jelly Bean 4.1 update Slightly_frowning_Face

You pay 35K for a phone and don't even get an OS update for it. Complete waste!!

To be honest after reading how many Xperia S users are having problems with the new jelly bean firmware and video recording( i use it a lot for recording my child sport activity) and other things(like worse battery) , I decided to stick with ics for now..at least until xda developers try to fix the jb problems.

Is it that after upgrading to JB in ION...I would also have issues in video recording??

I don't understand...why did they took so long, and that too it is not bugfree...:smileyconfused:

exactly, no JB for ION:smileyangry:...lets see, if the update comes this week...:smileyhappy:

I believe...we(ION owners) have to wait much longer...according to this article..

The problem with ION is that it was marketed for US. So Sony will be inclined to release the update for LTE model first and then HSPA+ :smileyangry:. Will have to check with users who are using the leaked version and check what all bugs are reported by them.

These are just Sony excuses. The only firmware registered for ion so far, is the one for HSPA+ version. Don't see any reason as to wait any longer with the release.

I'm so angry about Sony on Firmware update arrangement. It made me lost all confident with Sony and I will not consider to buy any Sony products in the future!

Even though Galaxy Note costs Rs. 3000/- more than ION (which costs Rs. 30000/- at the time I bought); I preferred Sony b'cos of their product quality & promises. But now I got the feeling that I have done a mistake. If I have the power to reverse the time may be I'll be enjoying the latest upgrades of android (even though Samsung lacks quality they are building their reputation by releasing the upgrades & patches for every time being. Thats how they are now competing Apple products).:smileyplain:

I knew that Sony would like to follow Apple/Samsung to use Smartphone Platform/Experience to introduce more her electronic products to customers. Direction is correct but she is not taken account the firmware/software development also very important for market/customers. Only hardware outstanding is not enough! We can make a simple comparison with her competitor Samgsung. Samgsung fully understood firmware update is a key to satisfy customer needs on operation experience. So, her update speed was the Champion on Android OS manufacturers. What's that mean? Customers will become more and more loyalty with the brand as Samgsung always bring the best technology to customer quickly.

How about Sony? Sorry, I can't see any update or apologise about firmware issue. It made me lost all confident with Sony Products. At first, I would like to buy Sony LCD TV soon. But now, I will buy another brand. In this case, I was lucky!? Because I spent not much money, could verify Sony "after service", is really behind the market far far away. I can forget Sony this brand as I don't like "Liar"!
