a week ago baught xperia e3 dual . its specification shows it has 4 gb of internal storage but my phone shoes only 2 gb.
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
There is nothing wrong, this is how the memory works in your phone. You can find the following information in the white paper: "Memory comprises of approximately 2.3 GB of firmware, plus 1.7 GB of “Internal Storage” for downloaded applications, music, pictures and films, and some application data."
If you want more information about the memory in your device, you can take a look at the white paper:

Well there is something wrong with the phone because as soon as a user lets the installed apps update, and then maybe has the cheek to actually use one or two apps, then the memory is full. For example. Facebook started at 29Mb. I have never logged in or used the app, but it is already 69Mb. I am already getting warnings that the memory is nearly full after owning the phone for a week.
My E3 is showing - Device Memory -
Total Space 1.72Gb
Available 488 Mb.
Apps 1.16Gb
Pictures, Videos 340 Kb
Audio 148 Kb
Downloads 0.96 Mb
Cached data 279 Mb
Misc 120 Mb
SD Card - Total Space 29.71 Gb, Available 20.87 Gb
The only Apps I have added have been moved to the SD card, all my music is on the SD card, I haven't taken any videos or photos.
So it seems that 2.28 Gb is taken up by the operating system, and that Pre-installed apps take up 1.16 Gb of the 2 Gb memory that is supposed to be for "the user".
The largest pre-installed apps are showing as
Album 22.96 Mb
Chrome 78.94 Mb
Facebook 71.98 Mb
G Mail 9.89 Mb
Google Search 71.52 Mb
Various Google Play apps - 110 Mb
Google + 50.11 Mb
Maps 22.55 Mb
Track ID 13.97 Mb
Track ID TV 17.20 Mb
TV SideView 24.97 Mb
Walkman 23.59 Mb
Xperia Keyboard 17.68 Mb
You Tube 17.15 Mb
Twitter 29.14 Mb
This model (for one SIM only) debuted in my country just now and I bought one this week. Barely used it (I don't think I even qualify as medium user) and allready experiencing same problems than syorks. SD card doesn't really solve this, unless one transfers there everything that's possible and turn of built in apps updates and permanantly be watching capacity... simply not praticable.
There are some nice features but storage should be advertised (tops) as 2GB internal memory instead of 4.
I've been a Sony fan since K310i but this one issue has just disapointed me to the point that I'll be returning it and switch to other device.

yes when i know there is only 2gb..im so disappointed..so im willing to root the device..so i can instal the app to my external sd...but i can't fine the rom or img. for it..my device is E3 single have been upgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 please upload the rom..so i could root my device please,,,?
