Well, which software do you currently have? Android 4.1 is JellyBean (which is a newer version then Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0) which I believe this phone was released with.

Which software do you currently have in your phone? JellyBean were released in march and I believe most phones were delivered with JB directly from the factory.

Check Settings > About phone > Software version and Android version

Hello,

My phone come with 4.0.x

When I check for update from the phone or Sony PC Companion, it tell me that I have the latest updates.

Month ago, I've tried to update the phone using Update Service, but my phone (Xperia E) wasn't exists in the list. Before two week, I've tried again with Update Service... the phone was in the list (I was so happy in this moment)... I've updated the phone using Update Service, but the same version of OS: 4.0.4!!! Just all my data has been erased!

Are you sure it's a Xperia E you have? In which country is this phone bought? After some looking around I'm pretty sure all of the Xperia E was delivered with 4.1 and not 4.0. Can you post a screenshot of your Settings > About phone - menu?

Hello,

The phone was bought in Bulgaria.

Oh, it's the Xperia E dual, that explains things Slightly_smiling_Face Dual was released on ICS.

If the phone is operator locked it might not be possible to update it due to denial from the operator of the software (or that they haven't approved it yet). Unfortunately there isn't really much I can do to help you out as I can't control which phones get the update.

Hello,

Thank you for the explanations.

Could you clarify to me the following points:

  • What is ICS
  • My phone is not locked by any operator, but used with two of Bulgarian operators. Is it necessary the both operators to approve the update or just one is enough.
  • Is it possible to be skipped somehow this restriction from the operators - removing one or both SIMs or using SIM from other operator (from other country) or something else.
  • Is it possible to get the update binaries for my phone and using Update Service or other tool to update it manually.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

ICS means Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)

Alright, in that case it might not have been approved for your market yet. You can still update the phone if you flash it via other tools. Check the Android development part of the forum for more information regarding this.
