Xperia Arc S poor signal strength issue

HI, My house is located behind a huge apartment building, n coz of that, I have to deal with poor network. Sad part is, even the basic nokia phones and samsung ace in my house catch fair signal but my arc S catches no signal at all.. I tried putting my vodafone sim in other phones to see if its vodafone network's problem but its not the case.. I was able to use my sim with other phones ... Virtually , my arc S has become useless  coz of this problem .. Everytime I need to make a call, I have to go to the main road and call and even then, often call gets disconnected and i have to call again .. My bro who uses vodafone sim too on his samsung ace, is able to make calls from anywhere in the house ... And using an airtel sim with my phone didnt help as well ... Any suggestions to improve network reception on my phone ???

Well, it's hard to say actually. If there's something wrong with the phone a software repair or a trip to a service center should help. Try repairing at first, if it doesn't, send it to a service center so they can take a look at it and perform some signal tests to see if the phone works as it should.
