Xperia Arc S missing button google voice search

Hello I have a problem with my xpera arc s with android 4.0.4

I have a problem with the pre installed application of google voice search.

After sayng send a message to.... the application open the window to insert the text but the "microfone" button (which I have to press to insert the text) is missing

this is how it should be:

I have already made an hard reset and a repair from pc companion and I can' remove the application because is pre-installed.

I don't use google voice search, so if I understand you correctly ...

For ics, the mic button is on the onscreen keyboard.

yes it's on the keyboard, but it's quite uncomfortable to press for example while you are driving so I tought that there was a problem with my version of google voice search.

Anyway it makes more sense to leave the mic button where it was instead of remove it, I don't understand this choice

After saying what you'd like to do and what text that should follow the mic-button is available on the keyboard, and that is actually how it's supposed to work.

Hopefully there might be a possibility in the future to have it also on the window, like your embed pic, but we'll just have to wait and see if it will appear I'm afraid.
