Hi,
My Xperia Arc S was working fine, but now it is completely dead.
It won't turn on at all.
I've left it charging via the supplied plug and also in my PC, but nothing happens.
When I connected via the PC, it comes with with 'unrecognised device'...it doesn't read it as a phone as usual.
I get no vibration when I press the power button, and nothing appears on the screen.
Can someone tell me how to fix it please?
Many Thanks.
Have you flashed a Custom ROM?
Hi,
No, this phone is completely untouched in every way, has been the same since getting it out of the box.
Remove the battery > press and hold power for 5 seconds > place the battery back on > connect your phone to a wall charger for 1hr > after 1hr try to repair your phone with SUS not PCC

Thank you, uliwooly, I will try and report back.
Can you tell me what causes things like this?
Did you fail to charge your mobile and power drained completely ?
Or it had enough charge and suddenly go dead ?
There are myriad reasons as to why this could happen, I've seen this more often when users were flashing, rooting or even just updating their phones and something went wrong and the process wasn't quite done.
Hi guys, good news, it came back.
I was actually using a generic USB charger. Didn't realise.
When I plugged it into the Sony one that came with the phone, it rebooted instantly.
Kind of weird? Why is that. It wouldn't work with 2 seperate chargers, or my PC...but works with the Sony charger?
The generic USB charger is working fine with other things and still charges the phone fine now it is back.
When the phone rebooted, all the time and date were wrong. It must have been some kind of crash.
Thanks for your help, as I say, phone is totally unmodified, I haven't even updated to ICS (which I believe is available on this model) as I was happy with the currents system, and read ICS might be slow on the phone. But all the info is good to know, I've saved this thread.
I'm glad its working now
