xperia arc, messaging problem

ok so my phone suddenly decided it didnt want to try n search for any signal at all, not even if i went to try n pick a network manually.

tried to reboot and it turned off n refused to come back on for AGES.

now when i get a text, the name of the person appears at the BOTTOM of my inbox with no text inside the conversation.

if i try to send, the same thing happens, they go to the BOTTOM and no text inside.

WTF just happened to my phone?

think i may have just fixed it, phone suddenly went back in time. changed my time to midnight and changed the date to 1980. that was supposidly using automatic provided by network....¬_¬
