Hello everybody Just hoping someone could help me out with this, it's been frusterating me all day ! I just received my new phone in the mail ( Loyal to Sony Ericsson since the 550i) And I currently don't have a date package ( They should be activating it tomorow ) And for some reason im unable to connect to my router ? It picks it up, and even says excellent signal when im beside it but still say's limited connectivity ? Do I need to have my data package in order to use this feature ? My sim card is activated and all that. But regarding anything internet related it's just not working ? I think i've went through all the settings but still am unable to browse or do anything internet related... any help would be nice.
You do not need to have any mobile wireless data package to use the Wi Fi function.
The Arc can access the internet in two main ways :
1) Through the mobile wireless network
2) Through Wi Fi
To configure the settings for the mobile wireless network access :
Go to the Settings menu ---> Sony Ericsson --> Internet Settings --> Accept
To configure for Wi Fi access,
Go to the Settings Menu ---> Wireless & networks --> Wi Fi (enable it)
Then select Wi-Fi settings ( Configure to match your Wi Fi network )
Also check that there are no firewalls preventing your phone from accessing the internet.
You could also try to perform a settings and /or factory reset on the phone.to see if it helps to resolve your Wi Fi issue.
Settings Menu --> Privacy --> Settings Reset / Factory Reset.
Please back up your phone settings and data before proceeding.
