I'd just tested out on Xperia arc and found that it heats up within one minute of use. I'd tried out in two different stores and still found the same problem.
Does anyone know what could have caused it? Will there be any fix for it?
As far as I know, it should not be the battery problem since it heats up at the upper half of the phone while the battery is at the lower half of the phone. Any input is much appreciated.
was the Arc connected to a power supply?
No, it's not connected to anything...
That is quite odd, so after a minute of use the Arc got really hot?
I wouldn't say it's really hot but it's definitely heating up and it's just a minute of use, just like when I'm charging my nokia 5800.
Can it be the camera? Or the processor? That's the only 2 reasons I can think of...
I think its just normal, all smartphones heat up when you use them
seikor,
I cannot understand what you are saying. Firstly, you stated that you 'tried' out the ARC at two (2) different stores and it exhibited the same problem.
My experience when I visit any store where phones are on display, they are always connected to a power supply, this way customers can simply pick up a phone and start playing with it. Perhaps you can tell us what you were trying to do during that minute, as we cannot discern what it was. Also, did you bring this to the attention of the Sales personnel? And what did they say.

Well, the stores I went to, they have the phones on display without the battery. You need to ask the sales personel to let you try them and they will insert the battery for you.
The first time, I was just checking the UI, apps and the camera. The second time, I was just sliding through the screens to check for lag and took a photo, I didn't even run any apps... I asked during the 1st try but she didn't answer it. During the 2nd try, the sales personel was busy attending to another customer so I didn't ask. I can't seem to search for this problem on the web so I'm not sure if it's a common problem...
ok, it seems that it got a little hot because you just turn on the phone, and when you do that, a lot of apps are open aswell so it makes sense it got a little hot
Is it? But I remember playing with a HTC not long ago and I didn't feel it heating up... I'm just worried if it's some hardware problems... This phone is quite expensive so I need to make sure it can last for quite some time if I decide to buy it.
