x8 update to android 2.1

i tried to update...but pc companion keeps telling me installation error, unable to install or start phone software update components

how do i fix this and download android 2.1??

Hi, try Update Service .... Here's the download link, http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/. The other option is to try with another PC/Laptop.
