The latest software update from SE which is dated May 2010, will not make the phone run faster.
The update may not be a disaster but it is not well done.
I have been running my X2 with only the clean WM 6.5 for some days and it is great. Really fast as the old ipaq 4700 running 2003SE. There were no bugs and I could use 3rd party software which is known to run on other WM 6.5 phones, but not on the X2 without hangups.
I am quite sure that the big problem is the SE Panel software and maybe the SBP version.
If I had the tools to do it I would load the camera .cab only and maybe a few other .cabs but stay away from the panel software.
The X2 could be a great phone but SE did a bad job in constructing the software.
Unfortunately I had to install this buggy software again just to get the camera running and so I got all the other .cabs too, but I have deleted the Panel program, all panels, SBP software and some reg keys. After that tweaked the phone with SKTools and now it works much better.
It is not possible to clean the phone from all the bugs. SE will have to fix that, but I wish SE would put the Panel software on PlayNow as a download option for those who want it - and fix it so users can upgrade the SBP.
