X10 Mini Pro - new user-help needed

Hi,  Hope someone can help me before I tear all the hair out of my head!!

I bought the X10 Mini pro, and have instructions on how to unlatch it, tho the first insturction is to press the left arrow key followed by ** the left arrow key again.  Can some tell me which the left arrow key is?  I thought it was to the left of the space bar, but its not registering on the screen when I press it.  O2 told me to go to Sony Ericsson which I did, who then told me to back to O2 as they couldn't help!!  I have been trying to do this for days and I am on the verge of taking the phone back and getting a refund.  Thanks in advance for anyones help.

To unlock the screen, you would press the power key at at the top of the phone.  Are you trying to enter the NCK code, the SIM unlock?  It sounds like you got generic instructions for one of our Java-based phones, not for the Xperia™X10 mini pro.

Here are the instructions that I have for your phone:

To unlock SIM:

NOTE: Only Network lock is supported.

1) Insert a locked SIM card into the phone and power on.

2) Then MMI will be displayed to unlock.

NOTE: You willnot see the unlock MMI if the phone is not locked.

Thanks for replying.

I am trying to unlock the phone so I can use it on any network.  I have been told to put the O2 SIM in the phone (that came with it) then do left arrow**left arrow then put in the long number code I was given and the phone would unlock to use any SIM.

The left arrow key on the pull out keyboard doesnt register on the screen, but obviously the * key does.  It then says USSD code running, then says rejected.
