X10 Mini Pro Message Centre No. Problem.

I've brought an unlocked X10 Mini pro.

I'm on the virgin network, I try to enter the Centre number but it does not enter it when I hit ok, it just leaves the box blank.

Is this because I'm in a phone and sim contract still with virgin and hence cannot use another phone?

Or is this  problem with my phone?

I have inserted  Vodefone PaYG and it found the number automatically.

I am having the same problem with mine too. It is on Virgin, can send mms no problem but wont do sms, just says can't send !.

I have also tried a vodaphone payg sim in it, can make calls etc. but still no sms ?

again same problem as yourself cant enter an sms service number it just stays blank and says 'not set'

I got this phone for my missus, as i have an x10i but she wanted something with a 'real keyboard'

on the whole it is ok, but not being able to send text messages is a bit of a bummer.

have been on to virgin, but they couldn't really help, just said they would get their IT guys to get in touch , but this could take upto 72 hours !!!!

if anyone can shed any light on this it would be much appreciated.

Hey,

I actually got the problem sorted, I took the phone into virgin and got a new SIM card (had to get a new plan to get internet, so new number etc too.).

It found the number fine this time and works a treat so I suggest going straight to virgin to ask for a new SIMcard.
