X1 can't add hotmail account (wifi)

my new x1 is only using wifi currently, and I successfully added my gmail account - that account works fine, no problem.

however I can't add my hotmail account - I always get the following error:

"Windows Live is temporarily unable to connect. You may be out of converage for data connections. Please try again later, or contact your mobile service provider for assistance."

instead of using hotmail, try outlook

when i try to add my hotmail account, it automatically uses hotmail settings.

are you suggesting i add my hotmail account through outlook? if so, how do i do that?

so i also cant perform a windows update, or sign into windows live. my hotmail issue must be related.

any ideas?
