Worst ICS bug!

Screenshot_2012-07-31-17-53-35.png

My Phone randomly sometimes drains a lot of battery. All I can see is Android system consuming maximum of it.

This is the screen shot when my battery went from 80% to 30% in 9hrs with only a few minutes usage in between and only 2G data on. All sync, FB, Timescape etc disabled! And this has happened on more than one occasion.

Never happened on gingerbread. Also someone from xda developers feels its a bug in the new ICS update.

Today happened also to me. In 6 hours without using it has drain battery from 100% to 60%. Android OS = 49% somewhere...

It happened only two times since I use ICS. Then I have shutdown the phone and turn it ON again.

The problem has gone now. about 6 hours has past now and the battery has drain only a couple of %.... problem fixed.

Dont know what is the cause of this, maybe some process hangs. Had to research using some software if happens more often.

When I see that the android os drain battery without reason, I just reboot and problem gone.

There are multiple users reporting this problem on xda :

And apparently there seems to be no solution to this problem!!

This is the worst bug of all!!

Way to go SONY!

This problem happens every time I run Maverick (a maps app). As m4dj says, the only cure seems to be to turn the phone off and on again.

Check this thread for general tips on battery performance and how to improve it.

Judging by that picture, the Android OS used 29% of the battery during the 2 days 2 hours 29 mins it's been running since last charge. To me, that sounds pretty normal.

However, there's clearly something strange going on since the diagram suddenly shoots in the roof without being charged.

I will forward this thread to the developers.

That shoot up is due to charging, that is not a problem. After i charged for the second time, it drained very fast.

Compare the two discharges.

There is also a thread on xda about the same.

It mostly occurs after the phone is full charged and battery stats are reset.
