Worrying charging problem

Long story short, my xperia s is a yer old charged fine etc etc used a cheap ebay car charger and it blew up and smoked (charger not phone) and ever since then the charge on my phone is wrong, took me 7 hours to charge to 50% from 40% via wall socket. Still displays charging symbol in top right of screen even when phone is not on charge and in mypocket. Tried factory reset, new software install via SUS, tried 2 different chargers etc, so ive now come to the conclusion its had it, either battery of charging port am i right? cheers

You can check the input current to your fone using some app in the play store, check on it. usually it will be aroung 500mA, I think so... And through pc, its the exact half.

So Install any monitoring app, check the input current, and if its not the desired value, I think you have to go to a service center. Most probably it will not be problme with the battery, may be the post r something. I think thats a better Idea. And chech the battery health too. Apps are available (go power master something). I dont know the acuracy of that app. But still worth a try... Winking_Face

Sounds like the phone and/or battery took damage but try holding on/off and vol+ at the same time for 10 seconds to completely shutdown the phone and then try again with the original charger. If that doesn't help you need to contact a local service location.
