Working temperature

I live in a country where the weather fluctuates between 36(°C) and -40(°C)  and am planning on buying this phone .I was wondering if the phone will be able to function at these temperatures? I had a Iphone 4S before and it kept switching off when the temperature droped below -20(°C) ,so im looking for something that will not have the same problem.

For optimum performance, the product should not be operated in temperatures below -10°C(+14°F) or above +45°C(+113°F).

Out of curiosity where do you live that there's such drastic temperature fluctuation?
