won't switch on, solid red bar when plugged in

Problem is as in the subject bar, i guess.

Last time it was on was when the alarm woke me this morning, when i came back from the shower, it was off and i can't get it back on.

When I plug it in, i get a solid red bar at the bottom of the phone, but nothing else.  Tried 2 different chargers, same result.

I've tried holding the power button / volume keys & the little off button under the cover for 20+ seconds each, numerous times, the phone doesn't respond.  No vibration, lights, nothing.

Any ideas pls?  Phone is just  over a month old, hasn't taken any damage afaik.

Connect to wall charger,force shut down and turn it on normally after.

Thanks, tried that again, still doesn't turn on.  Still get the red bar when it's plugged in, but nothing else.

How about if you try to repair via sony update service?

I get to the bit on the computer, where it says to plug in phone while holding the voume down key.  This brings up the red bar again, but nothing else - looks like computer doesn't recognise the phone is plugged in.

I think your phone needs to be taken into service:
