Won't charge.

My mum's L wont charge, well I say won't, I managed to get some charge in the phone, 18% - which took allllll day, then fell very quickly. Phones been on charge for over 24 hours of and on. Tried different chargers and outlets. Tried my laptop to which it connects and then disconnects for a second then reconnects. I manged to reboot the phone using the power and volume up buttons. Currently trying to charge in 'safe mode' to see if that helps. I rang my operator to which they didn't know and suggested trying a new battery (which they're sending out for free)
Anyone know of any fixes or for why?

If a new battery doesn't help, it might be the micro USB connector, I hope its not bc it will be quite expensive to replace as the whole motherboard has to be replaced and its the most expensive part of the phone, almost as much as a new phone

It should be still under warranty, mums had less than 6 months and is insured.

Sorry to hear that, but this could happen if the phone it's dropped while its connected

If the replacement battery does not help, then I suggest that you give Sony Mobile Customer Care a call, they may be able to help with this.
