Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

As above you will need to sue third party software to perform this function as when you use a laptop as a hot spot it creates an ADHOC connection point and the Android OS only supports Infrastructure type access points.

I am currently using mHotspot.......with JB 4.1 it was working properly. But after the update, it has stopped working. It dosen't even connect.

Forget the connection from your device and add it again.

Deal with it, it's a Xperia SP, you know...

Restart the hotspot and change the security protocol to WPA2.
