wifi tethering windows

when trying to set up my xperia arc s to be used as a wifi hotspot so i can go online using my hp pavilon g6 windows 8 laptop i keeping getting told that the connection is limited, and cannot access the internet using internet explorer and google chrome, my mobile network is uk based ee (orange)

is your phone locked to ee (orange)? the reason I ask is because some carriers lock this feature

yes my is locked to the ee network, laptop and phone appear to be connected but wont allow to surf the net on laptop

that might be the issue, contact orange and ask them if there's an issue with tethering or if you have to pay extra to tether

if it is indeed an orange restriction you have 2 options

1) pay extra

or

2) debrand your phone
