Have you been in to settings and "forget" the wifi connection? Then just set it up again, it's worth a try.

I had the same problem. If you're using an N wireless network, try max 145Mbps and not 300Mbps.
Besides try to change the channel of your router.

Mine dies this too. It's so frustrating. I don't always have access to routers to change their settings... This can't be a serious fix?

I've just added a detailed report on my own wifi issues. Your views suggest to me that this is as i suspect a common issue. I'll try the wifi N tweak in case it helps but I doubt my 3G mifi is wifi N.

At the behest of sony support i have factory reset and repaired a device and even replaced the entire unit. They need to recognise that this is not a one off issue but a fault in their os build that needs a fix as it is spoiling an otherwise excellent tablet.

Hi Karin,

Have you seen my other post on this issue and tried my suggestions?

This works for me almost every time.

  1. Enable airplane mode
  2. Wait for a few seconds to make sure that it has closed everything down.
  3. Enable Wifi (leave airplane mode enabled)
  4. Wait for wifi to be detected, 10 seconds or so is typically long enough
  5. disable airplaiiiine mode again

To help with the "how long do i wait" part of steps 2 and 4 I have an app called Wifi fixer installed. This app doesnot actually fix this issue, but if you have it on the screen when you enable airplane mode  you will see it log

WIFI DISABLING

then

WIFI DISABLED

It is after the DISABLED appears that you can enable  wifi in step 3

Hope this helps.
