WiFi direct not working in ICS

I updated my Xperia U with ICS 4.0.4 & faced the problems like

1     WiFi direct not workin

2     Backup & restore not working &

3     Some performance issues

then again I repaired the software & rest of all issues resolved except wifi direct.

then i reupdate the software from sony service centre but the problem still persist.

kindly help me out.

Hello, I have the same problem on my Xperia U ICS 4.0.4: when I activate the wi-fi direct under wifi settings, it turns on and there is the icon in the status bar, but when the screen goes into lock and then I unlock it, the wifi direct turns off switching to normal wifi mode, even if it was not activate before; I tried anyway to transfer some files with wifidirect on, pairing with a LG L9 without letting the screen lock, using WiFi Shoot or other apps: sometimes the connection succeeds between them, but no way to transfer files, and anyway even if the phones are connected if the screen locks after unlocking it always switch to normal wifi mode and connects to my wireless network.

Am I doing something wrong or is a known issue in U?
