Wifi cuts in and out Z2

I have a Sony Xperia Z2 ever since the last update. My wifi keeps dropping and most times I need to click on settings then Wifi to turn back on. Is there a way to fix this?

To confirm, is the wifi turning itself off in your phone settings, or is it staying on and dropping the wifi signal?

Hi yes its dropping off usually when the phone is not in use for a while. Then I have to either turn on the wifi or completely restart and even restarting sometimes does not work.

I mean when your wifi disconnects, and you go to Settings > wifi, is it turned off and you have to turn it back on? Or is it on and you have to reconnect to your wifi connection? It's important to know what is happening specifically as each issue needs different troubleshooting.

Yes I have to turn back on in the wifi settings. Sometimes I have to forget and re-enter password. If those don't work I restart. So I guess I have both issues you listed. The other thing I noticed is that the the circle loading icon keeps searching even if the wifi is connected. Hope this helps.

OK, can you please test your phone in safe mode and see if the same issue occurs?

Hold the power button a window appears, Hold shutdown then wait for a safemode popup and click yes.

Have you installed apps like "antivirus free 2016" or "memory booster"? Those apps are malware and will try to turn off WiFi too.
